The objective of the EKU Center for Economic Education is to service the needs of K-12 teachers in the area of economic education throughout central and eastern Kentucky. Please contact us if you are in need of resources or services that you do not see described here. We are part of the Kentucky Council on Economic Education (KCEE) statewide network of economic education providers. KCEE is a primary sponsor of our programs, and we work with them to empower all Kentuckians with economic and financial literacy for a stronger, competitive Commonwealth. We are affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE), a nationwide network that leads in promoting economic literacy with students and their teachers. NCEE's mission is to help students develop the real-life skills they need to succeed: to be able to think and choose responsibly as consumers, savers, investors, citizens, members of the workforce, and effective participants in a global economy. We apply for NCEE funds for specific programs and may have any number of these programs ongoing. Check back frequently for updates about our graduate courses and workshop offerings. Due to a recent endowment gift to our Center, we are able to provide more workshops and programs for teachers -- and on a more regular basis. If there is something specific you or your group of teachers are seeking, please let us know! We can also arrange to come to your school or district and provide economic education training for any grade level. We seek to add enduring value to our community and beyond as more students are helped to develop the real-life economic and financial skills they need to make good choices and succeed. To read more about our Center's endowment gift, click here. We are continually updating our library of materials, and these materials are available for you to borrow. If you look through the KCEE catalog and see curriculum items that look interesting, contact us. It is likely that we have copies available for you to borrow and try out before purchasing them. |
